Indian cooking varies widely from place to place, from the very strong curries in the south to the more delicate dishes of the northern territory. We at Denley's specialise in the most sophisticated form of Indian cuisine, that of the Kashmiri region. These dishes are prepared using gentler, subtler spices, and if you are a newcomer to us, try a Tava dish for a unique experience of this style of cooking. 	balti Balti derives its name from the fascinating cooking utensil - a cast iron skillet - which infuses the flavour of its cooking contents. Generally food is eaten directly out of the Balti, thus ensuring no flavours are lost. This traditional style of cuisine is more prevalent in the North West frontier of the Kashmiri valley. It was brought to Britain by Kashmiri chefs, particularly in the city of Birmingham, who developed its modern style. Freshly ground spices, daily picked herbs, and plentiful garlic and ghee complement the exotic flavours, and our chefs will individually prepare these dishes to satisfy your palate - be sure when ordering to indicated how strong you prefer your food!

A common misconception is that Indian cooking is oily and unhealthy, and indeed this can sometimes be the case. Our chefs at Denley's, however, take great care in minimising oil and fat content in all dishes, so you may rest assured that in addition to the fabulous flavour, your health will not suffer as a result.
